TWSD water situation update 11/9/25

I would like to thank everyone for your water conservation efforts. They are really paying off.

Also, our golf course well is almost keeping up with the water usage but we need to bring more water in.

We've been in contact with Oasis Enterprises, a water hauling company out of Alamogordo. They provide treated, potable water and they are saying they can pump directly into a tank. We are trying to get them up here tomorrow. If they can start adding water to tank 2 it will be a huge help in alleviating our water needs until Well #1 is up and running again.

We met with Statewide Drilling today and we thought they would be able to start pulling the pump right away but when they realized which well it was they said it would take their largest truck and that they would need to order a pump. They verified the type and size of pump we need and said they would get one ordered tomorrow. He indicated they would get a pump in asap but couldn't say for sure how quick the turn around would be. When the pump gets here they can pull the old one in a day and install the new one the next day.

We are hoping that between the golf course well and the water deliveries there's a chance we won't be completely out of water before well #1 comes back on. But continue to be prepared for that possibility just in case.

If we do get completely out, we're trying to contact Otero County Emergency Management. Several people have mentioned Otero County will deliver a water transport up here to be able to fill people's containers as needed. We've also made trips to Alamogordo this weekend to bring up several pallets of drinking water to hand out in case of an outage.
