TWSD water situation update - 11/10/25

Good news, Statewide Drilling is here pulling the pump!

Statewide Drilling has a motor for the pump in stock and their pump provider in El Paso has expedited a kit to build a new pump. When the kit arrives they can have the new pump built in a day and I'll meet them halfway to get it here as quickly as possible. There are no guarantees on the timelines but as soon as we know more I will post it here.

I met with Jacob at Otero County Emergency Operations Center today about getting some potable water up here. He said they do not have a potable water transport truck. He also said he's not sure if they even have a non-potable water transport available. Even if they did have a non-potable transport, it wouldn't make much difference since we can always provide non-potable water for flushing and filling animal water tanks from the Springs water.

And we have several pallets of drinking water at the lodge if we do run out and will get more as needed.

If we actually do run out of water I will need everyone's help in identifying people who will need assistance. We are prepared to deliver cases of drinking water and non-potable water for the customers who don't have the means to get out. For those who are unable, we can fill animal water tanks and assist people in showing them how to fill the back of the toilet with water for flushing.

If we do have an outage, please contact me (Otis 505-615-8782) with names, addresses and contact information for those who need assistance and we can start making the rounds. We may also need to enlist the help of volunteers at that point.

Thanks again for your water conservation efforts. They are making a difference.
